What ever you do...

Good Saturday Morning...I hope you have penciled in some time for yourself today.

With all of the things that are going on in our world; all the struggles, all the sickness, all the worries, it can take a lot out of everyone...so remember to give back to yourself today.

YOU are just as important; if not more so, than all the things that are written on that "to do" list!

Today, put yourself on the top of the list...after God of course!

Today, I thought that I would share a scripture that has been in the front of my Bible for many, many, many years. It has reshaped both my life...and my way of thinking.

If you serve in children's ministry...and I mean really serve...then you know that this CAN debatably be one of the hardest ministries within the church.

It CAN also be one of the most overlooked and thankless ministries...which causes many of us to become discouraged...and even give up.

I understand...I was in the same boat for years. You work, you serve, you give up time with your family, you give up time for yourself, you give up your health...and no one notices!

At any time of the day or night, you can be found "at the church" working to make everything perfect when everyone else is out at the lake or home with their families...and no one notices!

Of course, we aren't serving to be noticed...or to be recognized...or to be praised. We are serving because we were called to serve; we love children, and we care.

But an occasional "Great job" or an "Atta girl" or an "I can tell you worked hard" does wonders for our soul. It gives us fuel, it encourages us to keep going, it validates that we are on the right track.

Well, rest assured that someone does notice...and that is the Lord!

What is the scripture that is written in my Bible? What is it that changed everything for me? It's Col 3:23 ..

"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for THE LORD not for men."

When we take our focus off of serving others...and we turn our focus towards serving the Lord...it makes all of the difference in the world.

Work heartily...work filled with joy...work knowing that your reward is waiting for you in heaven...it does not come from man.

Have a wonderful and blessed day...and remember to serve heartily for THE LORD...not for man.

Praying for you always!
